It really is better to give than to receive.
Through ATK Cares, our employee led community outreach program, we support and partner with nonprofit community organizations in Greater Boston. As food is a driving force in our daily work lives, we primarily partner with organizations working to reduce hunger, with local farms, and with cooking education initiatives.
Continuing our work with ATK Cares, a portion of tickets sales from each America’s Test Kitchen Boston EATS event will be donated to Community Servings and Future Chefs. You will also find Community Servings and Future Chefs program participants helping alongside America’s Test Kitchen test cooks and Boston area chefs throughout the weekend.
Community Servings provides home-delivered meals and nutrition services to individuals and families living with a critical or chronic illness. Each year we prepare and deliver 560,000 made from scratch and medically tailored, meeting the medical and nutritional needs of our clients with HIV/AIDS, cancer, kidney disease, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses each year to 1,850 people. In addition, we offer nutrition education workshops in the community, host one of the largest volunteer programs in Boston, and train individuals for careers in the foodservice industry.
Future Chefs believes that every young person is capable of reaching their fullest potential if given the right opportunity to excel. We use the culinary arts as a tool to teach high school students what they’ll need to succeed professionally and personally. Our consistent, long-term program uniquely prepares and coaches teens to meet the demands and expectations of adult employment in any field.
Through the lessons they learn at Future Chefs, we hope that they will transform their communities for the better. Our students emerge from the program with the professional experience and confidence to pursue jobs that are both personally fulfilling and financially stable.
